Can’t believe NaNo is over and Christmas is just around the corner. I swear it seems like 2016 just started a few weeks ago.
Very proud to be a Nano-Winner this year, especially so early. How did everyone else do? Did you make it? Did something come up that you didn’t? No matter what, you did something this month. You started a BOOK. Not everyone can say they’ve done that, and not everyone is going to finish a book either. So I wish you the best of luck in finishing your book! There’s always NaNoFiMo next month, and I know I myself will be using it to finish my book as well!
DAY 22 – TUESDAY
Hit 50k yesterday and loving it! Unfortunately that means I’m letting myself off the hook with writing today. Also lots of noise from people coming and going trying to fix out apartment today.
DAY 23 – WEDNESDAY
Only 2828 words in today, but at least I wrote something!
DAY 24 – THURSDAY
Oh my sweet jesus, so much noise today. Can hardly hear myself think.
DAY 25 – FRIDAY
Even worse today. Our spare bedroom, basement hallway and storage room are all torn to bits. You can literally see through the wall to the next apartment.
DAY 26 – SATURDAY
Spending the day with the boy, no writing today.
DAY 27 – SUNDAY
DETERMINED to finish the first part of the book today (book is written in 2 parts). Only wrote about 1,667 words today, but I finally finished the first part!
DAY 28 – MONDAY
This is the week I’m getting back to writing. I’m going to make 60k for this month! Wrote 3,789 words with my writing buddies today. Very happy with that!
DAY 29 – TUESDAY
Second last day of Nano! Time to make it count! Though I only ended up with a little over 1,200 words, I got my 60k for the month!
DAY 30 – WEDNESDAY
And I’m a bad person, I know. Didn’t write today. But I got my 60k, so I’m happy!
Though I took a lot of days off this week, which in hindsight I kind of wish I hadn’t, Nano still turned out great, and I’m very happy about this year!
Things I learned from NaNo 2016:
- Start strong as you never know, things happen, you get sick, water heaters explode, etc.
- Sprinting is literally the best way to write.
- Have people holding you accountable for your goals. There’s no better way to ensure you’ll finish them.
I hope everyone had a great NaNo this year! Let me know in the comment section below how you did!
Stay classy internet!
